Bin Loaded
Sego Palm shadow, Charleston, S.C.
Aaaargh. I simply want to know if tomorrow is a recycling day. Everyone on my street dragged their blue bins out last Thursday. They were left spilling all over the sidewalk but we figured it was Veteran's day and smacked our foreheads...duh. We left them out another night in high hopes of a make up day but that just left one more night for tipsy college students to kick them over.
Our pick up schedule is every other Thursday so surely the county web site can make sure we are on track with a handy dandy calendar, no? No. Instead of a simple calendar you type your address in for exactly nothing to happen.
I live a couple of blocks from the water (read: lots of wind hereabouts) and one stupid garbage pickup holiday can result in a neighborhood of blowing trash and plastic cans. Which all end up in my driveway, otherwise known as The Vortex of Doom.
ReplyDeleteTry looking at the calendar here: http://www.charlestoncounty.org/departments/SolidWaste/pubs/calendar.pdf.
ReplyDeleteNot the best map but it does have a statement about holidays. We always just put it out and pray they come :)
Hopefully Wentworth Street doesn't really have to wait until November 26th?!??!
The town where I live publishes a calendar a year in advance and sends it to every house that pays property tax. Ours was the only house on our street that followed the calendar and put the recycle bin out on the day before Veterans Day. Not sure if Charleston folks would do any better if you had a calendar there. One could only hope. Love your Blog and photos from around God's Country.
ReplyDeleteMarcheline - same here!
ReplyDeleteroaming - that works. Thanks. Actually the other site worked when I checked it from work but on this computer it does nothing at all. One of the doctors told me it was recycling day but maybe he read the blog and came and took care of it for me. Heheh.
Anon - It is online - nothing I would do would get me to it.
