Charleston, S.C.
I've enjoyed the company of my nephew Jesse from Ontario, Canada this week and will have to pack him back off for the north in the morning.
We've almost converted him. BBQ, Folly Beach, She crab soup,
fishing in the Charleston Harbor, shopping at the PIG, the egret rookery at Magnolia Plantation, soft shell crabs from
Virginia's, a party under the oaks,
shrimp & grits, job shadowing at the hospital and now he is on the way to a shooting range.
Have we missed anything? Jesse said, "a person could really fall in love with Charleston."
Yep.
Oh, ya think? :-) Glad he had such a great time! (but, Piggly Wiggly? Really?? Not Harris Teeter or at least Publix?)
ReplyDeleteDonna - The PIG is the only place that sells Blenheim Ginger Ale - hot and spicy! He ran back in to buy the shirt.
ReplyDeleteLooks like ya'll had a good time.
ReplyDeletecute kid--I'm sure y'all had a great time--isn't it fun "showing off" this awesome place that we're lucky enough to live in?
ReplyDeleteMmmm.. my, my, my!
ReplyDeleteHe's from Ontario you say? What a coincidence! Me too..
I'll have to keep my eyes open for him. :P

bfarr - we have had a great time. Hate to see him go.
ReplyDeleteMa' - it really is. It makes you look at it with fresh eyes each time.
sunshine - Yes! He is at McMaster in Hamilton. My family is from lil' old Beamsville.
Looks like such good times! We ARE lucky to live in such an amazing city!! I used to work at The Pig years ago... all the Northerners would come in asking for ANYTHING with The Pig on it - even grocery bags - to bring back home! This was right before they started marketing "Pig wear" in the stores! Smart move on their part!
ReplyDeleteAww looks like he had fun.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you two had a great time together. Sally
ReplyDeleteThanks Aunt Joan! you're the bomb! (Jesse)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! You'll have the girls asking you for his number next thing you know...
