Early morning dinner on the farm
Thornhill Farms, McClellanville, S.C.
Ever wonder who the lucky people are who get to be guests in magazine dinner party photo shoots? This time it was me! Lucky me and my friends. Wowza. Charleston Magazine was doing an article on Chef Sean Brock for their October issue and I was allowed to invite a few friends to Thornhill Farms in McClellanville for the occasion.
While Chef Brock was busy with piles of fresh produce in the farmhouse kitchen, we lazed around on the porch sipping wine at 9:30 in the morning. The photo shoot was to represent a dinner party so we were forced to eat the most delicious four course meal with wine, Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka and sip bourbon.
Fellow lowcountry blogger Heather from Home Ec101 joined the party. I stayed out of photographer Peter Frank Edward's way and won't steal any of their thunder describing or showing too much of the incredibly delicious meal. You will have to wait for the October issue of the magazine. I know I will. I need a couple of the recipes. If you notice, our plates are completely empty. :)
What a wonderful treat! I am so glad that you got to be a part of that special dinner for A MAGAZINE! And y'all look thoroughly satiated, so I can tell that it must have been good! Please remind us of this when the magazine comes out!
ReplyDeleteSuch hard work!
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing, being forced to drink wine @ 9:30a! Yes, please do remind us when the issue comes out!
ReplyDeleteNikki - I will! they were primarily taking pictures of the food. We were happy background color. My main job was drizzling salad dressing on my salad.
ReplyDeleteB Squared - I know. Someone had to do it.
Ma' - Tough life I have, eh? :))))
Sipping wine at 9.30 in the morning? Wonderful! What a great stroke of fortune, and the pictures well and truly capture the moment!

ReplyDeleteHey Joan, why did you remove the picture of the lady with the pretty smile? And replace it with one where she's walking away from the camera? Is she shy???
ReplyDeleteMarcheline - I was being picky. She looked great but I felt her face was too dark in the bright sun and I didn't have time to photoshop lighten it. She did have a pretty smile :)
ReplyDeleteHow was the tea vodka? (P.S. Sorry, but you *do* look like a couple.) :-)
ReplyDeleteI said we looked like the grandparents at the head of the table. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Joan,
ReplyDeleteYou guys were the BEST! Thanks so much for making our story!
