I've been reading every post and looking over every photo. This was inspiring to read. It must feel so good to not only visit there, but help with bringing something useful to so many people. You and your friends did good, Joan. Thanks for taking us along.

Joan - Thanks for going, for caring, for doing, and for sharing your trip with us.

My mom (a nurse) went to Malawi a few years ago to help build a school, and brought back photos of similarly glowing faces. I am always surprised at how happy people can be, living in such hardship. Perhaps it is richness of spirit. There are so many rich people here who are sour, nasty, and jaded. It's a good lesson, and one that you can learn just by looking at a face - no sermon needed.

The "poisoned" sign is incredible, but I wouldn't test them. Your portrait with the homes in the background is so nice! Great to be home I'm sure. It feels like a million+ miles from home, almost another planet altogether.

Just wanted to say how nice it was to be able to follow along with you on your trip. It sounds like it was a remarkable time. You are "good people".
