Easter colors

Charleston, SC
The house colors looked so right for Easter and then I noticed the wreath on the door was egg themed.

Speaking of eggs, I ate my last Cadbury's Easter egg so I reckon it's time to wean off the seasonal sugar binge and straighten out my act. Back to oranges.

I've been doing some gardening trying to make a woodland pathway with ferns and shade plants on the side of my house. I worked on it yesterday afternoon and did a little this evening. I can tell you that bags of mulch have not gotten any lighter. Ouch.

Dude, you are so right about the mulch bags.... but have you tried to heft one of those bags of Miracle Gro gardening soil? Seriously, I had to wrap both arms around it and hug it to my chest and walk like a duck to get it from my Jeep to the garden! It was almost as tall as I am, and ... well ... weighed almost as much, felt like. Happy Spring!

This house looks as if it could be around the corner or down the street from the Visitor Center. Mrs. Slapthing save your back and borrow a wheel barrow or buy smaller bags or start to compost. Join the garden club they can put you in touch with better soil boosters. Honestly, preparing your beds is a year round enterprise. Good Luck you know people plant tulips in the fall. for a spring bloom. Good Luck

Not quite. I am the downsize queen with a little ranch house now.

Oh Lordy. I hauled those bags just as Mrs. Splapthing described. I do need to get composting myself.

Bees Ferry Landing. On the web back in 2012 the landfill gave away free samples of Compost. The page mentions selling 2 cubic foot bags of compost for 2 bucks. Perhaps things have changed since 2012 as it is five years later but I would look into that Does the Charleston county composting initiative
continue to sell compost??? I hope so for your back and wallet nerve!
