Ridgeway, S.C |
With all the political chaos of the primaries going on in town I hit the road on a day trip and found myself in sweet little
Ridgeway, S.C. We arrived in time for lunch at the former
Town Hall restaurant but the other option for lunch was
Laura's Tea Room and caught these ladies leaving after their formal tea. Luckily they had an assortment of antique shops and I was able to type up this blog entry on the road.

Emphasis on small! Very fasionable ladies too.
Hi Joan, what is the story on the ruin in the 2nd photo below the text? Post-Hurricane?
Reminds me of the heartbreaking damage we saw back in 1969 traveling from Pensacola to Corpus Christi, post-Camille. I will never forget the devastation.

Love the hats on the ladies!
That's a lot of interesting stuff on the shelves (of the antique shop?).
Must have been a sweet little trip. Love the hats!!
It was cute. I think it has been featured in a couple of movies.
Not so serious. I had seen it in an photo and asked where it was. The lady said it was left from a school that had come down. Of course, I don't know what brought the school down. I bet it is used a lot for wedding photo ops, don't you?
It was a currently used hardware store! They had regular stuff but since it was so old they had all kinds of vintage stuff on the upper shelves. I told the guy he should leave a tip jar for people like me who came in to take pictures and didn't buy anything. They had a huge wood stove in the middle of the store.
Not all young ladies put on their fancy wear and hats for Saturday afternoon tea!
