I've been itching to have a life size chainsaw carved bear in my backyard. My nephew Jesse has some talent with a carving knife and I've been hinting that he should make me one. Heheh. When a giant oak tree at work lost a limb recently all I could see were bears - a skinny ones, struggling to get out of some of those long logs.

Seriously? Me, too. I went to a college with a bear as a mascot, and I have wanted a chainsaw-carved bear for years. I keep hinting when my birthday comes by, but so far, no bear.
Figures and animals carved from felled trees are very popular here. The Minnesota State Fair often has carvers giving demonstrations; fun to watch but requires skill!
They are expensive! And heavy. It would be a major job to move one of them. I did find a place where we could take a class and bring home our own carved bear...how good are you with a chain saw?
Jesse is probably thinking, "just bear with me." Heh-heh-heh.
He did mention he would need to get a truck first. Heheh.
Joan, no one wants me around heavy and dangerous tools.
I can relate to the bears... there's a skinny me inside this log of an exterior longing to get out, too. 8-)
Good one! Yes. Me too.
